2025 F-150 Fitment Numbers You Actually Need
F-150s are all single rear wheel (SRW). What changes bed selection is wheelbase and the resulting cab-to-axle (CA) measurement after the factory bed comes off:

Payload Is the Real Constraint
A 2025 F-150 payload rating runs roughly 1,700–2,400 lbs depending on engine, cab, and axle. Removing the factory box gives back roughly 400–500 lbs; a steel skirted bed can weigh 700–900 lbs, and a light aluminum or steel flatbed 450–650 lbs. Net effect: you may lose 200–400 lbs of usable payload. On a half-ton that matters, so we steer F-150 buyers toward the lighter models.

- Skip the heavy service bodies. An 11-ft steel service body with a crane belongs on an F-450 or Ram 4500, not an F-150.
Towing With an Aftermarket Bed
Most F-150 flatbeds come with a gooseneck ball and rear receiver. Max conventional towing on a 2025 F-150 is up to about 13,500 lbs with the 3.5L EcoBoost and max tow package; gooseneck/5th-wheel use is limited by payload, not the hitch, because 20–25% of trailer weight lands on the ball. Do the pin weight math before you buy the trailer.
