SRW vs DRW on the F-350 Chassis
- SRW beds are ~86–87″ wide and use narrower fender wells. Better on soft ground, cheaper tires, easier to park.
- DRW beds are ~96–97″ wide with dually fender flares. Roughly 1,000+ lbs more payload capability and far better stability under a loaded gooseneck.
- A DRW bed cannot be fitted to an SRW chassis or vice versa — confirm before ordering.
Payload and Towing Context
A 2025 F-350 DRW cab and chassis carries up to roughly 7,800 lbs of payload and pulls up to about 40,000 lbs gooseneck when properly equipped; SRW versions run roughly 4,500–6,200 lbs payload. A steel flatbed takes 500–900 lbs of that. Aluminum saves 250–400 lbs if payload is tight.
